LIVE8

before/after
strangely non-functional guestbook

I suppose Im too cynical for this, but at its most optimistic level, the LIVE8 concerts happening around the globe represent people raising their collective voice to their leaders.

Their democratically (supposedly) elected leaders.

It speaks of goodness of the human heart.  That I'm not alone in my feeling that ALL of this ALL of it, could be a whole lot better for EVERYONE.

And it strikes me as sad that it would take such a drastic coming together to have the faintest possibility to have our leaders hear us and do the morally correct thing.

Still, it does provide evidence, that even though people may not fully understand things  (god, some of those interviews...people seem to be lost in a fog sometimes, and I wonder how they found their way to wherever they are.  Then again, put on the spot, not everyone is eloquent, so perhaps I should be optimistic and try to believe that there is a greater basal state of awareness out there than I fear. ) and truly understand the state of civilization today, basically they want to do the right thing.

Provided they are lead there.  Which leadership is in decisively short supply these days.

Off to do charity work.  Playing a joint fund raiser for narc-anon and al-anon.

Strange, that.  But hey, glad to help out.
