Okay.
President Bush is taking steps to call up an additional 1 million reservists for 2 years.
He has repeatedly said that the US will make no distinction between the terrorists, and those who harbor them.
He has rallied the international community behind him.
There are a couple of aircraft carrier groups steaming full speed to the Gulf righ now.
All of the US's service men are on high alert.
And STILL the Taliban government denies links between Usama Bin Laden and the horrific acts of september the 11th.
And STILL the Taliban government refuses to hand him over.
C'mere a second, sparky.

AT THIS POINT, IT DOESN'T MATTER TO YOU IF HE DID IT OR NOT!
*Argentum smacks him on the side of the head in an attempt to wake him up*
Right or wrong, you are only going to increase the misery of your people ten-fold if you hold on to this sucker.
I don't know if he did it, and I'll even take the extremely gullible step and say you don't know if he did it.
But at what point do you make the decision for all of your people who charge their fate into your hands, that their lives and happiness is inconsequetial compared to that of a man, whom, for all intents and purposes, is pretty much off his rocker.
Let's be as kind as possible under the circumstances, and examine the barest incontravertible biographical facts, when I could speak to the worst of his character. (and will.)
This guy is a mult-multi-millionare, who could live a pampered posh life free of care or worry. Instead he goes and fights Afghan civil wars.
Doesn't give up the money. He's not that crazy or principled. Just likes violence and victimization.
Gets kicked out of his own homeland. Pretty much pissed of everyone in power in his homeland.
(When you think of it, this is pretty fucking rotten. You can kill people, and still your homeland incarcerates you. You still have a home.)
His own family disowned him. They cut him a check and set him loose on the world.
No country will harbor him or grant him any kind of asylum, except you guys.
And this peice of entitlement minded filth is worth the well being of your people.
Who's crazy in this scenario?
Are you fucking mental? Did you eat paint chips as a kid?
This is such a poor display of leadership.
(Factor in the fact that they most likely know the truth, and most likely are lying at some point and this borders on the insane.)
They key to true leadership is knowing when to speak for your people, and knowing when to speak with your people.
Sometimes moral aboslutism in leadership positions is a detriment. (especially when you are already lying to begin with, as it backs one into an indefensible corner)
Sometimes you simply need to see what your people want and need, and take them to a place where these wants and needs can be met.
Innocent lives will be the price of your blustery bravado. Your pride. (your lies.)
Give up the man, and greive for that part of your soul that may be tarnished, knowing that it is a far preferable pain to that of a mother, greiving for a lost son, paying the price for your foolish pride.
