Space Between Us

What if space is all there is?

Not in the metaphysical sense, no not really.  The mind is all there is, meta-physically.

But in the physical sense, what if the space between us is insurmountable, space is all there is and time is something of a relative figment.

In all the search for life, and the resultant campfire soulsearching compainion questioning, the inevitable, "Do you believe in there's life out there?", it always seems as though everyone reaches for some over-arching supreme distance spanning civilization, understanding of it all, already come to terms with entropy and brutality.

What if life flourishes on distant planets, dies, and so much time passes that all traces of it are wiped out before across the galaxy, or in another galaxy life starts to grow, flourish, and dies, leaving no trace?

What if space is the final answer to the physical?
